Register for the Bob Powers Classic
June 8, 2012
The golf outing was named in honor of the Foundation's longtime volunteer chairperson. Bob Powers was an integral part of the Foundation's golf outing, originally called the County Classic, for over 20 years. He passed away on August 8, 2010, just three days before the event he helped planned since the MCH Foundation's first County Classic in 1989.
This year the golf outing will support the Foundation's current campaign "Caring for Today and Tomorrow." Funds from the campaign will help the hospital acquire electronic health records, set up patient care endowment funds, and help purchase new equipment for departments such as laboratory and surgery. The tournament includes player gifts, lots of prizes, challenging games, and good food.
“The Bob Powers Classic is a fun way you can help support the Madison County Community," said Kelly Snyder, Executive Director of the MCH Foundation. "You spend the day playing golf on a beautiful course and help support endowment funds that will help local patients afford care."
The Bob Powers Classic is a two-day golf event that offers two different formats. Wednesday’s four-person shamble begins at 12:30 pm. The fee is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, carts, beverages on the course, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and an opportunity to win more than $1,200 in prize money.
On Thursday players compete in a six-person scramble and have a choice of either a 7:30 am or 1:30 pm shotgun start. The cost is $80 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, carts, lunch, dinner, and beverages on the course. The day also includes unique chipping and putting contests, and fun games.
Register for both days and get the discounted rate of $160 to play 36 holes of golf.
