Volunteers Recognized at Annual Awards Luncheon
September 20, 2010
On September 13, MCH recognized volunteers at their annual luncheon.
Grace Feyh was the winner of the Jean Smith Award after volunteering 997 hours this past year. The Jean Smith Award recognizes the volunteer who has accumulated the most hours in one year and can only be received once.
Robert “Bob” Feddern won Centerpiece of the Day for his 4,424 hours of service. The Centerpiece of the Day is awarded to the volunteer with the most accumulated hours over the years and can only be received one time. Bob has volunteered with the Life Care Alliance Meals on Wheels program for 21 years.
Special recognition was given to Edie Tolley for volunteering over 14,000 hours during her 20 years with MCH. Edie is currently the volunteer manager of the MCH Gift Shop. Because of her sharp business management skills and her ability to “sell, sell, sell,” the Gift Shop is able to give money back to the hospital each year for needed items. This year the donation was $16,000 and went toward the hospital’s Breast Cancer Initiative.
